Precious Materials, Precious Moments – The Link Between
14th – 21st June | Monday – Saturday | 10am–5pm
We’re excited to invite you to our gallery in Ditchling this June for Precious Materials, Precious Moments – The Link Between, a special exhibition celebrating the creative process of jewellery re-design.
Running from the 14th to the 21st of June as part of Sussex Craft Week, this exhibition explores the meaningful transformation of heirloom jewellery into contemporary designs. For us, it’s not just about craftsmanship—it’s about preserving memories while reimagining materials like gold, platinum, diamonds, and gemstones for the next chapter of their story.
Our gallery and workshop are located in the heart of the South Downs in Ditchling, East Sussex. Founded here in 1988, with a family legacy of craftsmanship that dates back to the 1920s, we’ve always been passionate about creating handmade, bespoke jewellery that speaks to the individuality of the wearer.
Much of our design inspiration is drawn from the natural world around us. Our Creative Director, Rebecca Smith, is known for her Trap (Sussex Shore) Collection, which captures the textures and rhythms of the local coastline. The collection features hammered metal surfaces set with diamonds and sapphires to reflect the way pebbles lodge in wood as the Sussex landscape shifts with the tides.
Precious Materials, Precious Moments offers a behind-the-scenes look at how we breathe new life into treasured pieces. You’ll discover how we honour both the material and emotional value of jewellery through our redesign process—something we often refer to as a “precious legacy.”
We’ll also be offering guided workshop tours throughout the week, giving visitors the opportunity to see our goldsmiths at work and learn more about how each piece is crafted.
The exhibition is open from Monday to Saturday, 10am to 5pm, and entry is free. We’d love to welcome you to our space and share the stories behind the jewellery.
