Fishtail Set Engagement Ring

Typical commission budget · fixed quote before work begins

  • Handmade in Sussex, England
  • 90-day returns when bought as seen
  • One free resize, whenever you need it

Hand-carved fishtail claws, worked individually so no two are alike, give the fishtail set engagement ring its name, resembling the tail of a fish and lifting a 1.5ct round brilliant cut diamond with a further 1ct of round brilliant accent diamonds, 2.5cts in all.

Every claw is cut at the bench in our Ditchling workshop in Sussex, where we have crafted fine jewellery since 1988, making this one of the most intricate settings among our engagement rings.

The budget for this ring starts at £20,000, the final cost depending on the central diamond selected; our designers are ready to help you choose the perfect stone for your preferences and budget.

A comfort-fitted inner feels slightly looser than a flat band, so we recommend your true size. Order a free ring sizer, or book a 20-minute fitting in the Ditchling workshop. Every ring comes with one free resize, whenever you need it — there is no time limit.

Made from recycled precious metal — silver, 9ct or 18ct gold, or platinum, depending on the piece — and hallmarked in the UK. Bring it back to us rather than cleaning it at home: we re-polish and re-finish Pruden and Smith pieces free of charge, for life. Full advice on the jewellery care page.

Free UK delivery, tracked and signed for, in our signature gift box inside discreet outer packaging. Engagement rings bought as seen carry an extended 90-day return window — worth having when you are choosing on someone else's behalf. Returned in original condition and packaging, of course. Full details on the delivery and returns page.

Handmade in England

In a world of mass-produced, machine-made jewellery, often imported in bulk and discarded from season to season, we stand by the enduring value of handmade luxury. We create jewellery designed to last for generations, not just seasons. When you invest in a handmade piece of jewellery, you’re investing in something timeless, something you’ll never need to replace.
