Information we collect

Information you give us. When you place an order, book an appointment, commission a bespoke piece, contact us, leave a review, or sign up to our newsletter, you may provide your name, email address, phone number, billing and delivery address, and details relevant to your enquiry or commission (such as ring sizes or design preferences).

Information collected automatically. When you visit our website, we and our service providers may collect your IP address, browser and device type, the pages you visit and how you found us — some of this through cookies and similar technologies, which are only used with your consent where the law requires it. See our Cookie Policy for the full picture and how to change your choices at any time.

Payment information is collected and processed securely by our payment providers (such as Shopify Payments and Klarna). We never see or store your full card details.

How we use your information

We use personal information to: process and deliver your orders; carry out bespoke commissions, remodelling and repairs; respond to enquiries and manage appointments; send marketing emails if you’ve subscribed (you can unsubscribe at any time); understand how our website is used so we can improve it; show and measure advertising, where you’ve consented to marketing cookies; and meet our legal obligations, such as keeping accounting records.

Our lawful bases

We rely on: contract — to fulfil orders and commissions; consent — for marketing emails and non-essential cookies; legitimate interests — to run and protect our business, respond to enquiries and improve our website; and legal obligation — for tax and accounting records.

Who we share it with

We never sell your personal information. We share it only with service providers who help us run the business:

Shopify — our store is hosted on Shopify, which processes customer and order data on our behalf. You can read how Shopify handles personal data in the Shopify Consumer Privacy Policy.

Payment providers (Shopify Payments, Klarna and PayPal) to take payment securely; delivery companies to get your jewellery to you; Klaviyo to send our email newsletter; HubSpot to manage customer enquiries and relationships; Google and Meta for analytics and advertising, where you’ve consented to those cookies; Triple Whale for sales and marketing analytics; Okendo to collect and display product reviews; Swym (Wishlist Plus) to power wishlists on our site; and Census for optional post-purchase surveys.

Some of these providers store data outside the UK. Where they do, transfers are protected by recognised safeguards such as UK adequacy decisions or the International Data Transfer Agreement / standard contractual clauses.

How long we keep it

We keep personal information only as long as we need it: order and commission records for as long as required for tax and warranty purposes; enquiry details while we’re helping you and for a reasonable period after; and marketing details until you unsubscribe. We then delete or anonymise it.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you have the right to: access a copy of your personal information; correct it if it’s wrong; ask us to delete it; restrict or object to how we use it; receive it in a portable format; and withdraw consent at any time (for cookies, use the Cookie preferences link in our website footer; for emails, the unsubscribe link in any newsletter).

To exercise any of these rights, email hello@prudenandsmith.com. We’ll respond within one month. If you’re unhappy with how we’ve handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.

Children

Our website and services are not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16.

Links to other sites

Our site may link to third-party websites. Those sites have their own privacy policies, and this policy doesn’t apply once you leave our site.

Changes to this policy

If we make meaningful changes to how we handle personal information, we’ll update this page and the date above.
