This sapphire and diamond hinged engagement ring uses Cliq's hinge mechanism to solve a genuinely practical problem: fitting a ring securely over a large or arthritic knuckle without it sliding around the finger afterwards. A 0.8ct central sapphire is flanked by two 0.25ct GIA-certified round brilliant diamonds, and the hinge itself opens with a stylus the size of a ballpoint pen nib, backed by a 5-year guarantee. Sizing is taken below the knuckle using a specially designed hinged sizer, which can be posted out if a fitting visit isn't practical. A matching diamond-set wedding ring is sold separately.
