People, Purpose & Permanence

Written by Pruden and Smith

At Pruden and Smith, jewellery is never just an object. It carries meaning, memory, and time. That belief shapes every decision we make, from how we design, to how we work, to the kind of business we choose to build.

We are a British, women-led business, rooted in craft, guided by purpose, and committed to creating jewellery that lasts, not just physically, but emotionally. These values are not statements we display, they are the framework behind how we exist.

People First

Pruden and Smith was shaped by two founders, Rebecca Smith and Anton Pruden. Rebecca, as Co-Founder and Creative Director, defines the creative direction of the brand, while Anton’s background in traditional silversmithing anchors our connection to craft and making.

Together, they built a business where design and making are inseparable, and where people come first, both those who create the work and those who wear it.

We believe in building a place where people are respected and able to grow. Our workshop is built on collaboration, where experience is valued and every contribution matters.

But “people first” does not stop at our team.

We are deeply customer-centric, because jewellery is never just about how something looks, it’s about why it is worn. Engagements, anniversaries, losses, milestones, remembrance. Every piece begins with a story.

We do not see customers as transactions. Every piece begins with a conversation. We listen, we guide, and we create alongside the people who wear our work. Jewellery is personal, and the process of making it should be too.

Inclusivity is not a policy. It is something you feel when you walk through our doors.

Luxury with Longevity

We exist in contrast to a world of mass-produced jewellery, worn briefly and replaced season after season.

We believe luxury should mean permanence.

Our jewellery is handmade in England and designed to last for generations. When you invest in a Pruden and Smith piece, you are choosing something that becomes part of your life, not something that needs replacing.

To honour that, we offer a guarantee on every piece, including polishing and repairs. Jewellery should age with you. It should gather story, not be discarded.

This is a slower way of making. A more considered one.

Purpose in Continuity

Jewellery moves in a circle.

It begins with promise, engagement rings, wedding bands, eternity rings. It lives through years of wear. And sometimes, it reaches a point where it no longer fits, yet still carries deep meaning.

For over two decades, we have offered jewellery remodelling because we understand this cycle.

Rings in drawers. Necklaces no longer worn. Heirlooms full of memory.

Remodelling allows these pieces to continue their story.

It is a service many jewellers no longer offer, because it is slow and specialist. But we welcome it. We believe there is value in carrying both material and meaning forward.

A grandmother’s ring becomes a ring for today. A family stone moves into a new chapter. The gold changes form, but the story remains.

These values guide everything we do.

Who we employ.
How we make.
What we stand for.

Jewellery, to us, is not about excess.
It is about meaning, longevity, and connection.

Made by people.
Built with purpose.
Designed to last.
