Choosing a Gold Necklace

A gold necklace is a lasting investment as much as a piece of jewellery — warm in colour, hard-wearing and always in style. Ours are handmade in solid 9ct and 18ct gold at the bench in Ditchling, from delicate everyday pendants to substantial nugget chains.

Prices start at around £95 for a small hammered gold pendant and rise to £8,999 for a solid-gold nugget necklace, with most falling between £180 and £2,400. Styles include our signature Nugget and Marwar designs, hammered coins and teardrops, collars, and diamond and gemstone-set pendants in yellow, white and rose gold.

Many designs can be set with a diamond or birthstone, made in the gold colour you prefer, or designed bespoke — and we can rework old gold you already own into something new. Every gold piece carries a 10-year guarantee with free re-polishing for life, and makes a natural anniversary or milestone gift.

Frequently Asked Questions

What gold are your necklaces made from?

Our gold necklaces and pendants are made in solid 9ct and 18ct gold — yellow, white and rose — rather than plated base metal. 9ct is harder and more affordable, while 18ct has a richer colour and higher gold content.

What is the difference between a gold necklace and a gold pendant?

A pendant is the gold charm or drop that hangs from a chain, while a necklace is the complete piece including the chain. Many of ours pair a handmade gold pendant with a chain, and most pendants can also be worn on a chain you already own.

Can you make a gold necklace from my own gold?

Yes. We can melt down and rework inherited or unworn gold into a new handmade necklace or pendant at our Sussex workshop — a lovely way to give old gold a new life. Get in touch and we'll talk through the options.

Are your gold necklaces guaranteed?

Every gold piece is covered by our 10-year guarantee against manufacturing faults, with free re-polishing for life. We're also happy to check the setting and chain periodically to keep everything secure.
