We were asked to provide some expert wedding jewellery advice….

0.5ct diamond and platinum engagement ring with fitted wedding band
The questions we were asked were:
How does the commissioning process work for bespoke designs?
After an initial consultation, designs and quotes are drawn up and on acceptance, a 50% deposit begins the making process. This can take up to 12 weeks with the balance paid on collection.
What are the most important factors when choosing wedding rings?
Metal, section (design), fitting to existing rings, timescale, size.
What would you say the most popular items of bridal jewellery after the rings?
Pendants and earrings as gifts for brides, bridesmaids, mother-in-law, etc.
What would be your best piece of advice to couples planning their weddings?
Men often have resistance to wearing rings – let them talk to us! We can offer great advice that persuades them such as using a matt finish so as to reduce the bling!
How early should couples start thinking about booking their wedding rings and what would be a good first step?
Given that one-off, more complex designs can take 12 weeks to finish, including hallmarking and engraving, plan early!
What is your most frequently asked question?
“Which metal is hard wearing?” We advise platinum for white metal or often palladium for men’s rings (good colour, lighter & cheaper); 18ct gold if yellow is required.
