Choosing Emerald Jewellery

There are two routes into emerald. Rough, uncut Brazilian emeralds — set in studs, pendants, collars and bracelets — keep the stone's natural crystal faces and matt green depth, starting from £99. Faceted emeralds bring the classic vivid glow, set with diamonds in cluster, trilogy, Moi et Toi and eternity designs, including our signature Bubbles, Spiky and Trap styles and Art Deco-inspired dress rings.

Pieces are made in 9ct and 18ct gold or platinum, many pairing emeralds with old-cut or brilliant-cut diamonds. Prices range from £99 to £12,000, with most between £140 and £5,800.

Everything is handmade and hallmarked in our Ditchling, Sussex workshop — covered by our guarantee of ten years on gold and twenty on platinum, with free re-polishing for life.

Frequently Asked Questions

Are your emeralds real?

Yes — our pieces are set with natural emeralds, including rough, uncut Brazilian stones left just as they were found. If you'd like to know more about a particular stone's origin or character, contact our Ditchling workshop and we'll tell you about the piece.

What is rough emerald jewellery?

Rough emeralds are left uncut and unpolished, keeping their natural crystal faces and a deep matt green quite different from a faceted stone's glow. Because the stone isn't cut, each piece is one of a kind — and rough emerald jewellery starts from £99, a fraction of faceted emerald prices.

Is emerald a birthstone?

Yes — emerald is the birthstone for May, and an emerald wedding anniversary marks 55 years of marriage. Both make emerald jewellery a meaningful gift.

Can emeralds be worn every day?

Emeralds are reasonably hard but most contain natural inclusions, so they're best treated gently — remove emerald rings for heavy hands-on work and keep them away from knocks and harsh chemicals. Pendants and earrings take daily wear more easily. If a stone ever needs attention, our workshop can help.
