Choosing Lapis Lazuli Jewellery

Lapis lazuli's deep ultramarine blue, flecked with golden pyrite, has been prized for thousands of years — and because the flecking formed naturally in the stone, no two pieces are alike. The collection spans disc and marquise designs, collar and tab necklaces, rough-cut stacking rings, studs, drop earrings, bracelets and cufflinks.

Stones are set in sterling silver, 9ct and 18ct gold, or paired with our hand-textured gold nuggets. Prices run from £89 for disc earrings to £2,800 for statement dress rings, with most pieces between £99 and £600.

Everything is handmade in our Ditchling, Sussex workshop and covered by our guarantee — two years on silver and ten on gold, with free re-polishing for life.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does lapis lazuli jewellery cost?

Lapis is one of the more affordable semi-precious stones. Our pieces run from £89 for disc earrings to £2,800 for statement dress rings, with most between £99 and £600. The most prized lapis shows a deep, even blue with fine golden pyrite flecks — which is what we select for.

What is lapis lazuli?

Lapis lazuli is a semi-precious stone prized for over 6,000 years — the ancient Egyptians wore it, and Renaissance painters ground it into ultramarine pigment. Its deep blue comes from the mineral lazurite, shot through with golden flecks of pyrite that make every stone unique.

Is lapis lazuli a birthstone?

Lapis lazuli is a traditional alternative birthstone for September alongside sapphire, and it marks the 9th wedding anniversary — both good excuses for a gift with real history behind it.

How do I care for lapis lazuli?

Lapis is softer than most gemstones, so treat it kindly: keep it away from perfume, cleaning chemicals and hard knocks, and wipe it with a soft damp cloth after wear. If a piece loses its lustre, send it back — re-polishing is free for the life of the piece.
