Choosing a Necklace or Pendant
Stones run from rough-cut emerald and lapis lazuli to opal, pearl and diamond, set in sterling silver, 9ct and 18ct gold or mixed metals. Statement collars sit at the top of the range; dainty pendants start under £100.
Everything is handmade in our Ditchling, Sussex workshop — hallmarked, covered by our guarantee with free re-polishing for life, and chains carry a one-year guarantee of their own.
Frequently Asked Questions
What's the difference between a necklace and a pendant?
A pendant is the piece that hangs — a stone or design suspended from a chain — while a necklace is the whole thing, and can also be a design in its own right, like our collar and gold nugget strands. Pendants are the more flexible gift, since the chain length can be adjusted to suit.
What chain length should I choose?
As a rule of thumb: 16 inches sits at the base of the throat, 18 inches — the most popular — just below the collarbone, and 20 inches or more lets a pendant sit over knitwear. If you're between lengths or buying a gift, our workshop can advise, and chains can usually be swapped.
Which gemstones feature in your necklaces?
Lapis lazuli with its gold-flecked blue, rough-cut Brazilian emerald, opal, pearls from Akoya to baroque, and diamonds — many left rough or hand-cut, so each pendant's stone is one of a kind.
Are your necklaces handmade?
Yes — every piece is made by our goldsmiths in Ditchling, Sussex, and hallmarked where required. Metalwork is covered by our guarantee — two years on silver, ten on gold — chains for one year, with free re-polishing for life.
