Choosing Ruby Jewellery
Most pieces are made in 9ct or 18ct yellow, white or rose gold, many pairing rubies with diamonds or pink sapphires. Prices run from £99 for ruby zoisite studs to £8,000 for a gold and ruby trilogy ring, with most pieces between £220 and £3,500.
Everything is handmade and hallmarked in our Ditchling, Sussex workshop, covered by our guarantee — ten years on gold, with free re-polishing for life. Ruby is the July birthstone and the traditional stone of the 40th wedding anniversary.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is ruby zoisite?
Ruby zoisite is a natural stone in which ruby crystals formed inside green zoisite, giving a striking fleck of red against deep green. Because the pattern formed in the earth, every piece is one of a kind — we cut and set it in studs, necklaces, bracelets and pendants.
Is ruby the 40th anniversary stone?
Yes — a ruby wedding anniversary marks 40 years of marriage, which makes ruby jewellery one of the most meaningful anniversary gifts there is. Ruby is also the birthstone for July.
Are your rubies real?
Yes — we work with natural rubies, from faceted deep-red stones to rough-cut crystals left close to how they were found, plus naturally occurring ruby zoisite. If you'd like to know more about a particular stone, our Ditchling workshop is happy to tell you about the piece.
Can ruby jewellery be worn every day?
Yes — ruby is one of the hardest gemstones after diamond, which makes it a sound choice for rings and jewellery worn daily. An occasional clean with warm soapy water keeps the colour bright, and our free lifetime re-polishing keeps the gold around it looking its best.
