Choosing a Wedding Ring

Start with the profile: court-shaped bands are rounded inside and out, the most comfortable for daily wear, and the foundation of most of our designs. From there it's character — our signature hand-hammered and rough-hammered textures (no two rings strike the same), brushed and matt finishes, two-colour mixed metals, beaded rows, pavé and flush-set diamonds.

Shaped and curved bands are made to sit flush against an engagement ring, and hinged Cliq-fit designs open on a hinge for larger knuckles. Widths run from dainty 2mm to substantial 8mm, in 9ct and 18ct golds, platinum or silver — from £220, with most rings between £400 and £3,200.

Every ring is forged to order in your exact size by our goldsmiths in Ditchling, Sussex, hallmarked, and covered by our guarantee — ten years on gold, twenty on platinum, with free re-polishing for life.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is a court-shaped wedding ring?

A court ring is gently rounded on both the outside and the inside, so it slides on easily and sits comfortably all day — which is why it's the classic choice for wedding bands. Most of our designs are built on a court or low-court profile.

Can a wedding ring be shaped to fit around my engagement ring?

Yes — our shaped and curved wedding bands are designed to sit flush against an engagement ring, and because every ring is made to order in our workshop, we can shape a band around your specific ring. Bring it in or send us a photo and we'll advise.

What is the difference between men's and women's wedding rings?

Mostly width and proportion — women's bands typically run 2–4mm and men's 4–8mm — but there are no rules: any of our designs can be made in any width, metal and finish. Many couples choose matching textures in different widths.

What are hinged wedding rings?

Hinged rings (Cliq fit) open on a discreet hinge and click closed, so the band can pass over a larger knuckle and still fit snugly at the base of the finger — a practical answer for arthritis or enlarged joints without compromising on design.
